Just like Maggie, my grandmother also passed away in the winter of 2015. In October of 2014, Margaret Giroux was forced to leave the house she lived in her whole life, only to be admitted to the hospital to spend the last of her days. To put it into perspective of how strong and daring this woman was, on Christmas Eve she tried breaking out of the hospital because she wanted to spend the day with all of us like we would always do. Rest in peace to one of the smartest women I've ever known who had carried her wits with her even until the minutes before she passed away.
lyrics
When October came they took you away, to a safer place where you'd spend the last of your days.
But you were always miserable there. You just wanted to go.
"Anywhere but here," you said. "I want to go home."
But now you're gone.
You haven't even eaten in ten whole days.
I don't know how you're doing it but I wish there was a way to let you know how I feel.
But instead I'll just keep to myself.
I know your time is limited, and I can't do anything to help.
